There are many things to love about Christmas, and it’s hard to put them into words. It’s a time of giving and sharing, spending time with family and reflecting on the past year. I have always anxiously waited for Christmas ever since my parents told me the stories about Santa Claus, Rudolph, and all the characters living at the North Pole.
While I may not be the wealthiest person on Earth, I do appreciate the smaller things that come with the Christmas season, like the beauty in snowflakes, great food, and being able to binge-watch holiday movies with loved ones.
So, this year, I’m sharing 25 things I love about Christmas. Enjoy.
Things To Love About Christmas
- The Presents: My family and I are great when it comes to gift-giving. We always aim to out-gift each other, ad it’s honestly hilarious and heartwarming the things we come up with sometimes. This year, I cannot wait to see how my loved ones react to what I got and see what I receive.
- If you’re still shopping for gifts then check out these gift guides!
- Holiday Movies: For me, the holiday movies season officially begins in October. I am a sucker for Christmas and holiday-themed movies like Elf and The Polar Express.
- Great Food: I don’t know about you. But, I always look forward to Christmas dinner.
- Fairy Lights and Pretty Decorations: As someone who suffers from depression, I always appreciate how much the room can be brightened up by the fairy lights and Christmas tree decorations, even at night. You cannot help but smile, even on the gloomiest of days.
- The Spirit: I don’t know what it is about the holidays, but people seem to be kinder and a little happier. At least, some do.
- Christmas Competition Shows: One of my favorite things to do with my family is indulging in holiday-themed competition shows such as the Gingerbread Showdown and The Great Christmas Light Fight.
- Drinking Hot Chocolate: One of my favorite pastimes on a nice cold day
- New Book Releases: Many excellent books, especially in Fantasy and Mystery, tend to come out around this time of year. I’m always looking forward to reading something new and exploring new worlds.
- New Video Game DLCs: If you’re a videogamer, then you know that the holiday season is when most companies release their limited edition DLC packs and adventures. I always look forward to buying a few of these packs, especially for games I have yet to beat.

- Window Shopping At The Mall: Even if I’m not spending, I love looking at the fabulous displays.
- PAJAMA SEASON! You cannot have winter or Christmas without grabbing yourself a brand new pair of pajamas.
- Eggnog: I know it’s a hit or miss for some people, but I love eggnog, especially with baked goods.
- Ice Skating: Have you ever been ice skating under the stars? Me neither, lol. But I love going to free ice skating rinks and going around a few times. It’s a great way to get some exercise and stay seasonally fit.
- Christmas Music: I love Christmas Music, and I start my playlist as soon as November. I hope I’m not the only one.
- Spotify Wrapped: I like seeing how my music style varies from year to year, and I always look forward to the Spotify-wrapped playlists.
- Gingerbread Everything: If you don’t love to make or eat gingerbread cookies, men, or houses, then do you even like Christmas?
- First Kiss Under The Mistletoe: I’ve been in a long-term relationship for the last five years, and I think it’s super cute when we get caught under the mistletoe together.
- Seasonal Alcoholic Drinks: I always look forward to the seasonal alcoholic drinks
- Ultimate Sales: If you think Black Friday was crazy, then wait until you see what businesses come up with throughout December. It gets even crazier.
- Ugly Christmas Sweaters: They are fun to wear
- Time With Loved Ones: Because if there is one thing the pandemic taught me, it’s that time is sacred
- Holiday Romance: To me, the holiday season is one of the most romantic seasons besides Valentine’s Day. Am I wrong?
- No More School: At least for me personally.
- Double Pay: While working may suck, at least the pay is nice.
- Vacations: It’s the perfect season for getting away from home.

I love Hot Chocolate and PJ season – it’s just so cozy which is my vibe for sure! I also love a good holiday movie, as well as some holiday video game DLC for my couple of games. This is a great list Riyah and thanks for sharing. Happy December – Merry Christmas.
Alex,
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I love drinking hot cocoa almost every day of December. It’s one of my favorite ways to pass time and to be cozy at home.
All of the lights and decorations are definitely a highlight! That, and Christmas cookies! I never think about Spotify wrapped until it happens, and this year I loved it more than usual. I loved this list- it made me excited for all of the things I haven’t done yet!
Allison,
I’m always so amazed at Christmas lights and the way they can brighten up a room. Thanks for checking out my list.
Such a nice post to read through. Beautifully detailed. Christmas is indeed a time to rejoice!
Hi,
I love Christmas. Thanks for reading. Happy Holidays!
Reading through this list reminded me so much of all the things that I love about this time of year and it’s hard to believe that we are already past the mid-way point in December. This time is full of wonderful nostalgia and you certainly have created the quintessential Christmas list of things to love here. I hope you and your readers have a fabulous Christmas and I look forward to reading so much more on your blog next year.
Hi Nicole,
Awe, thanks so much for reading. Creating this list helped me remember the good ole’ times before the pandemic and appreciate the holidays so much more. I hope you and your family have a fabulous Christmas and new year!
Merry Christmas, Riyah! This year has been a little bit bland, like Christmas will be just another day. I think the pandemic has certainly played a big part in that feeling. But your list reminded me that I have a ton of things to be grateful for, and that I need to slow down to really enjoy the little things. Like hot chocolate and a good Christmas movie. I will definitely be adding those to my watch list this week!
Hi Erica!
Have a merry Christmas! I can understand those bland feelings because I also have those feelings. I feel like the pandemic put a dent in the traditional Christmas joy and has clouded it a bit. Hopefully, my list will inspire you.
