7 Wonderful Affirmations For Boosting Self-Esteem

We’ve all heard that positivity does wonders when it comes to living the life you always wanted. For women, having a set of wonderful affirmations can help create a positive mindset, treat themselves with kindness, and learn to find joy.
Positive affirmations work pretty simply—they build connections in your brain, tricking it into subconsciously proving those assumptions correct.
MRIs, social studies, and various research techniques support the science behind affirmations. These prove that positive affirmations work, although they may sound weird.
These are just some of the beautiful things you can say out loud or in your head to keep pushing yourself forward in the right direction. I recommend you stick to this order, but it’s entirely up to you and depends on your specific situation.
So, today, I am sharing 7 wonderful affirmations all women can use to build self-esteem.
Wonderful Affirmations
Breathe
This one is straightforward, but it does wonders in more intense situations. It’s common knowledge that panic attacks are accompanied by trouble breathing, and reminding yourself to take deep, calm breaths is a huge help.
Focusing on breathing is a biologically calming process because it slows your heart rate and triggers your parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for your body’s rest.
I understand.
This may sound weird to say to yourself, but the more you think about it, the more sense it makes. You want to push forward in whatever environment and situation you want to. But first, you need to understand the one you’re in right now.
Many people tend to avoid asking themselves why they do what they do or feel the way they think, and acknowledging both and understanding the reasons behind them is part of progressing further.
When people feel understood, they can be more in touch with themselves and be more honest, thus uplifting their self-worth.
I can do this.
This is essentially pep-talk, and it works even better when it comes from within. Low self-esteem is synonymous with the belief that you can’t do some things, and this affirmation battles it head-on.
There are many situations in which a little push is more than enough. Hearing these words usually does the trick, especially in situations involving others, like public speaking.
Please take it step by step.
Many of us feel overwhelmed by the problems we face, our goals, or the length of the road itself. Lacking the self-esteem needed to either take the first step or keep walking the path we have already chosen can be enough to make us quit or never start in the first place.
This affirmation helps you stay focused in the present moment instead of worrying about far-away things. It provides a much-needed perspective on why your actions matter now and why you shouldn’t give up because of the road ahead.
I’m doing great.
What this helps with is retrospective. Looking back on previous achievements makes you realize how much you’ve changed and, thus, how much power you have.
It is easy to forget past struggles when facing new ones, but that doesn’t mean they were less important or challenging; they hold just as much value.
A different aspect of this affirmation is appreciating your actions in this moment—gaining a third-person perspective. You can see how amazing what you’re doing right now is and, therefore, boost your confidence.

I can turn my dreams into plans.
This looks only in the far future.
We all have these dreams we believe are impossible, but the only thing stopping us is ourselves. This doesn’t mean that the road ahead will be easy. However, it does mean that even if it seems nearly impossible, it can be achievable with enough effort.
Changing the word from “dream” to “plan” pushes your brain to think more about how to get you to this point rather than why it seems impossible. It also helps with shifting your mindset and embracing change daily.
It may sound weird at first, but the world we live in today has enough proof that no wall is unclimbable and that there’s no limit to what you can accomplish if you believe in it.
I love myself.
This will sound weird the first few times you say it, but that’s no reason to quit. Such a simple sentence can turn your life around completely when you start believing it.
It’s a journey alone and may not be easy, but it is worth the effort. When you feel love, your worldview can drastically change and improve, so imagine the power this feeling can have if it comes from within.
This is ultimately the most robust affirmation and is responsible for miracles.
Final Thoughts: Using Affirmations
I hope you enjoyed these wonderful affirmations. Although all this may sound a bit weird initially, with enough consistency, it can help people build their self-esteem. The different perspectives these affirmations provide and the safe space they make through time are substantial for the environment one needs to cultivate better qualities and self-worth.
There are many ways to use affirmations. Some of the best practices for using them daily include saying them out loud, writing them down, reading them to yourself, or even recording your voice and listening to them when you feel comfortable.
There are many more ways you can make this journey fun. For instance, write down different reasons why they are true or reward yourself with something small each day you’ve said them all, etc. I advise you to make positive and wonderful affirmations a part of your daily life and see how much potential you have and how great you already are.
What are your favorite affirmations? Let me know in the comments.

great affirmations! my favorite is the last one — ‘I love myself’
if only more people would say that one more often… then maybe the world might be a better place 🙂
Love these affirmations, Riyah. Reminding myself and affirming that I love myself, need to breathe, to take it step by step, and I can do it are wonderful affirmations that I need to practice more readily. The explanations behind each affirmation was great too. Sometimes we repeat things without understanding the meaning behind it. Great post.
I agree, thanks for reading.
affirmations are truly life changing! if you think it, it will be true. we all need to love ourselves a little more.
We should always love ourselves, enjoy the affirmations.
I’ve not tried affirmations before but I do believe they work for many people. I think the best one is probably “Breathe” which is a great reminder to step back and apply a little perspective, isn’t it?
Yes it does. It also reminds us to slow down and stop rushing through life.
These affirmations are great.
I need them right now due to some life circumstances making everything seem out of my control. I’m literally saying them out loud, sending out some good energy.
Will use these ones.
Just what I needed! This was great!
Great post. I really needed it today.
I previously struggled with getting triggered & still do sometimes, but I’m learning I can only control my reaction & training myself to be more positive.
It’s not often you see a post on affirmations that gives the affirmation context for why it would be useful. Makes for a refreshing chance
All of these are great! I need to start reminding myself of some of these.
These are great. I love I can turn my dreams into plans.
wonderful! I am in a turbulent period of time right now and I rely heavily on affirmations. It helps a lot to focus and set myself up. I will try your affirmation with exact wording as well, I do hope it will help me a lot.
These are all great! Breathe and You can do it are so so important!
I needed to read these today. It is something I’m going to save and start reading each day.
I love this. There are great reminders here for everyone, regardless of what stage we are at in our lives. I know that there is definitely more than one on this list that I needed to hear right now. I know there are a few people that could really benefit from this, so I’m forwarding it on. Thank you!
Thanks Britt, I’m glad I could help someone.
