It’s Black History Month, and today, I want to share some black-run podcasts that you should listen to. Podcasts are growing widely in popularity, especially since the pandemic. People use podcasts to digest their daily news, stay informed, educate themselves, and entertain themselves.

Black podcasters are at the forefront of diversifying this growing medium. They’re having honest conversations on topics many of us avoid, like politics, race, religion, culture, and even health and wellness within their community. As a fellow content creator, I know how hard it is to curate and publish content consistently. Although I am black, I can be light-skinned, which shields me from the daily hardships that people with melanin experience.

We should make more efforts to highlight Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) content creators, podcasters, writers, and creatives. I’m not downplaying the actions of anyone who is not part of the BIPOC community. You provide content daily; however, black and African-American podcasters struggle to get their content published and advertised.

So, to help get the word out, I am sharing my favorite black run podcasts, which I think you will love. Please follow each of these podcasters on social media and share their content if you enjoy it.

How To Uplift Black Creators

I hope you enjoyed my list of black run podcasts. Although it’s Black History Month, we should be uplifting black creators year-round. In addition to the ten podcasters I listed above, there are over 100 other black-run podcasts you can check out. If you want to learn more about these podcasts or find out where to find them, I highly recommend searching on FeedSpot or Pinterest.

Other ways to uplift black creators include sharing their content, commenting, liking, and supporting them every step of the way. Consider buying something from them if they sell services or things to complement their blogs and podcasts. There are so many ways we as a community can uplift black creators, and it starts by highlighting them and giving them a platform they can diversify.
