Every year, billions of people globally suffer from mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder, and so much more. Even scarier is the number of people who die or commit suicide due to these illnesses. That’s why people worldwide participate in Mental Illness Awareness Week in the first week of October.

Although the conversation surrounding mental health should not be limited to one week, this allows mental health advocates globally to unite as a unified voice to advocate for increased education and improved support and resources for people suffering from these mental illnesses.

As such, I want to do my part in curbing the misconceptions and misinformation surrounding various mental health topics by sharing valuable resources and information with you. So today, I am sharing the top 10 mental health advocates you should follow on social media and online.

Please follow them on their unique perspectives, journeys, and ideas on mental health.
