I’ll be honest. I’m done with winter. I’m looking forward to warmer, brighter days filled with fresh breeze and blooming flowers. As the seasons change, it’s important to freshen your self-care routine with new spring self-care practices.

Practicing self-care is essential, and maintaining a solid routine helps you maintain healthy relationships with your physical, emotional, mental, and psychological self. It also allows you to better improve your overall health by tending to the things your body needs the most.

The spring season is perfect for restarting a new self-care routine or adding additional, refreshing self-care ideas to your routine. It represents new beginnings, rebirth, and a time for making positive changes in your life.

Spending time outside rather than hibernating like bears at home will be easier as the weather gets warmer. So, here are 20 perfect self-care ideas for refreshing yourself this spring.

Remember that your well-being is essential- and you must set time aside to take care of yourself!

Spring Self-Care Ideas For Refreshing Yourself

  1. Go Outside: This one is obvious. As the weather improves, you need to make time to soak up the natural Vitamin D. Spending time outdoors elevates your mood, increases happiness levels, and can alleviate symptoms of depression or anxiety.
  2. Start Spring Cleaning: Cleaning your living space for the new season is satisfying and an excellent way to declutter and practice self-care. Cleaning always leaves the body and mind feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
  3. Declutter Wardrobe: If you’re like me, you probably have many clothes you’ll never wear again. Wash and sort through your winter and spring clothes. Put away the things you want to keep and figure out how to donate or recycle the rest.
  4. Open The Windows: Let some fresh air circulate at home!
  5. Do Some Aromatherapy: Different aromatherapy items, such as essential oils, are perfect for invoking a feeling of warmth and calmness in the spring. Also, try out fresh or floral scents such as Lavender, Geranium, Roses, and Ylang Ylang.
  6. Buy Plants: Turn your home into a green haven with cute plants or succulents. Keeping plants in the house is proven to improve mood and mental health.
  7. Do A Tech Detox: It’s time to enjoy the real world outside your screens! You can do this via digital minimalism
  8. Attend Outdoor Fitness: Practice some physical acts of self-care and interact with the outside world by joining an outdoor fitness class.
  9. Take Up Gardening: Gardening is an excellent way to practice physical spring self-care, and it will help you connect with your inner tree-hugger.
  10. Get Your Hair Done: It can be refreshing to get your hair done, and it’s an activity that’s all about you: new season, new look.
  1. Visit A Farmer’s Market: Farmer’s markets are a fantastic way to get out of the house, get some fresh food, and support your local community. It’s been a while since I’ve been to a farmer’s market, but it’s something I’m looking forward to this spring.
  2. Freshen Up Your Skincare Routine: With the warmer weather, it’s important to use skincare products made for that season and your skin type. Swap out your hefty moisturizing cream for a slightly lighter one, and add a water-based cleanser to your routine.
  3. Start Journaling: As the weather changes, you may experience mood swings. Keep a journal of how you’re feeling or free-write about your day.
  4. Add Fruits To Your Water: We all know the importance of drinking water daily. Make your water more refreshing by adding fresh fruits such as lemons, strawberries, blueberries, and oranges.
  5. Create A Seasonal Vision Board: It’s never too late to manifest and set goals. Manifest your ideal life for the spring season by creating a vision board. I’ve used various self-care, love, and manifestation planners from Lovet Planners to help me build my dream life.
  1. Schedule Your Medical Appointments & Stick To Them: Most people need to visit their PCP or health specialist annually around this time of year. Maintaining these appointments and asking your provider any crucial questions regarding your health concerns is vital. Self-care is as much about physical health as it is about mental health.
  2. Start Meditating: Meditation is a great spring self-care practice this season, especially if you’re busy or struggle to stay present-minded. Take 10 to 15 minutes out of your daily schedule to sit down and quiet your mind. Meditation has many health benefits and can reduce stress.
  3. Start Planning Your Days: Grab your favorite weekly or daily planner, and start planning your weeks ahead of time. This will save you valuable time and help you maintain your self-care routine this spring.
  4. Start A New Hobby: Grow your mind! Try watching a new historical documentary, a new recipe, writing poetry, or anything that engages the brain intellectually this spring.
  5. Treat yourself with love! The best spring self-care practice of all is to love yourself. This one goes without saying. Show yourself a bit of self-love, take a break when needed, and get in touch with what your body needs every day.

  9. I’m going to go check out your journal prompts now. My favorite thing I’ve been doing for self care is getting out and about. The sun really does amazing things for me! It has made a huge difference in how I feel. We have a local market every Saturday, where people gather to sell all kinds of homemade things, and my husband and I have been going every other week this month to see things and eat delicious food while enjoying the sun.

The aromatherapy switch during the spring is a major update and I really enjoy it. At the same time, I have never felt lighter, fresher, and happier during the spring than these days.

I like your suggestion to add fruit to water. I mix 2 ounces of wolfberry juice into my 26-ounce water bottle and add a few drops so of lime essential oil to help me meet my daily water goal. It’s like drinking spring all year round!
