09 Best Holiday Movies To Watch On Christmas Eve Night

Merry Christmas Eve! We made it here. One of my favorite things to do with my family on Christmas Eve is binge-watching many holiday movies. For those who may not be familiar with the genre, holiday movies are films centered around the holidays. This may be Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year’s, Three Kings Day, or any holiday.

Watching holiday movies is the perfect activity for the family. It involves relaxing, sitting back, eating great food, and waiting for Santa Claus to show up to town. So, here are some of my favorite holiday movies to watch on Christmas Eve.

My Favorite Holiday Movies

Krampus

Odd, I know. But if you are a horror fan, then you will love this classic holiday horror movie. Krampus is the absolute opposite of Santa Claus. He’s not kind or friendly. Instead, he haunts every naughty child and their families. You can find Krampus on Hulu.

Noelle

I love Noelle. It’s such a cheeky holiday film, and it always makes me warm and fuzzy inside. Noelle is about the adventures of Santa Claus’s younger sister, Noelle. The film focuses on her efforts to save Christmas and find Kris Kringle simultaneously. This film is streaming on Disney Plus.

The Rise Of The Guardians

The Rise Of The Guardians is a children’s holiday film about the fictional characters kids love: the tooth fairy, Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, and Jack Frost. They fight the forces of evil to protect children’s belief in them. This holiday movie is available on Amazon Prime and Apple TV.

Christmas Cupid

If you’re a sucker for the romantics, then you will love this film. Christmas Cupid is a romantic holiday film that retells the story of Scrooge in a modern way. It’s about a Hollywood PR executive whose dead celebrity client leads her on a trip through her past relationships to make her realize who her one true love is. This movie is on Freeform, Hulu, Sling, and Fubu.

The Polar Express

This is a must-watch film on Christmas Eve. It’s about a young boy’s self-discovery journey to the North Pole and the fantastic train ride he takes. This film is available on all streaming platforms.

Jingle Jangle

I loved this musical! I usually avoid Christmas musicals because I find them corny, but this one was great. Jingle Jangle is about the granddaughter of a famous toymaker who goes on an adventure to bring hope back into his life. This film is on Netflix.

The Princess Switch

You’ve probably seen the trailer of Vanessa Hudgens swapping places with Vanessa Hudgens for Christmas. That’s this film, and it’s worth watching. The Princess Switch is about an everyday girl who trades places with a princess who looks like her, and they fall in love with each other’s boyfriends. This holiday movie is streaming on Netflix.

Home Alone

For anyone living in the UK, I highly recommend this film. Home Alone is a classic holiday movie here in the Americas. It is about a young boy who fights off robbers on Christmas Eve after being left home accidentally by his family. As scary as this sounds, it’s a comedic film.

Elf

The last holiday movie and the best movie is Elf. Elf is about a man who searches for his birth father after being raised accidentally on the North Pole his entire life. It’s such a wholesome film and perfect for the children.

I hope you enjoyed my list of holiday movies, and have a Merry Christmas Eve!
