2022 June Monthly Blog Review

I have a lot to talk about in the monthly blog review. First, June was a fantastic month. I didn’t experience depression episodes, I turned 25, and I’m slowly figuring out what I want to do in life. I’ve also been working on sticking with my healthy lifestyle habits, such as daily yoga, journaling, skincare, and even turning off my computer at a particular time and relaxing.

The only downside to June was realizing how bad my Dad’s cancer condition was. However, this Father’s Day taught me to be more appreciative that he’s alive and fighting, which means the world to me.

In this monthly blog review, I want to talk about the power of gratitude and how it helped me see the brighter side of everything going on with my Dad. But first, I want to talk about some things happening on the blog.

June 2022 Monthly Blog Review

I’m proud of how June turned out. I was more engaged in the community and worked harder to promote my work outside of social media. I noticed an increase in Pinterest views and new visitors to the blog, which is fantastic. I’ve also seen how Instagram is growing.

How Gratitude Helped Me To Think More Positively

As I mentioned, thinking positively about cancer and my Dad’s condition has been challenging. However, practicing gratitude and learning to appreciate our moments together made a difference in my mental health and how I see the world.

When I first learned about his cancer, I reacted as most people would. I was distraught, sad, and angry. I felt like cancer was an immediate death sentence that was inevitable. However, through gratitude, I know that it’s not a quick death sentence.

Practicing gratitude taught me not to look at him as a sick cancer patient but as a surviving and fighting Dad I’m lucky to have. So many people have fathers who died in war, prison, cancer, and other situations.

Some of the other things I also learned to be grateful for are:

  • Everything he’s done for us since we were children
  • His fighting spirit
  • The lessons I’ve learned and will carry with me throughout my life
  • His ongoing support of my dreams
  • His love for American Football (sorry, UK Folks!)
  • His neverending love for me

I’m happy that I got to spend time with my Dad this Father’s Day and that I can continue to hang out with him in the future. But unfortunately, not everyone is as lucky as I am, and I’m more conscious of that.

What To Expect In July

There’s not much happening in July, so I have a mix of posts coming out. Some posts are summer-themed, some are about general wellness, some are tailored to different ideas of self-care and love, and I have a few gifted and PR posts coming to the blog.

How did you do this month? Did you hit all your monthly goals? Let me know in the comments.
