2022 May Monthly Blog Review

Did you accomplish all your monthly goals? I think I did. Check out how Riyah Speaks performed in the latest monthly blog review.

I learned how to manage work, family, and alone time better. I started my daily morning routine again, which felt good. May was an excellent month. In this monthly blog review, I will share some things I did to bounce back from burnout, depression, and low moments when I began to think too negatively about the things around me.

I have been on this downward spiral of depression and angst since March. So it’s nice to feel more like myself again and return to doing the things I love: blogging, going out, eating, reading, and writing.

I honestly needed this time to recuperate and be with myself. I was going through a lot and realized that my pain and sadness were causing me to feel unmotivated when it came to blogging, taking care of myself, or pursuing lofty career dreams.

Now that I’ve taken this time, I feel happier, calmer, clear-headed, and more willing to fight against the world.

I will share a few of my monthly wins towards the end of this post, but first, let’s look at my stats for May.

May 2022 Monthly Blog Review

May was a good month for the blog. My monthly page views skyrocketed, and I sold one of my planners! In addition, Mental Health Awareness Month helped drive traffic to my site. I was more consistent with engaging, commenting, and promoting my posts than in April.

My Monthly Wins For May

I’m super happy about how May turned out. I made real progress in my overall health by practicing self-care and taking time to be with myself. There’s a lot to celebrate and acknowledge about what happened, making it hard to narrow it down to a few.

Each month, I’ve set a portion of these monthly blog reviews to celebrate the small wins for the month. I find that my mental health is greatly improved when I do this, plus it’s nice to compliment myself once in a while for something good.

Here are some of my wins for May

  • I didn’t experience burnout.
  • I started hitting the gym.
  • I restarted my daily morning routine (Yoga, meditation, shower, eating breakfast)
  • I am not feeling depressed.
  • I took myself on a solo date once this month.
  • I am growing my relevance and knowledge in mental health.
  • I completed more of my life coaching certification.
  • I did some behind-the-scenes work on the blog.
  • I hit a new relationship milestone with my significant other.

What To Expect In June

First, it’s my birthday, so I’m celebrating the entire first week of June with all things 25th. So yes, your girl is turning 25 and finally hitting that milestone. It’s about damn time. So after my birthday (June 5th), I will publish some Father’s Day content and gift guides.

I’m also going to share some summer content and work on some more behind-the-scenes stuff.

How did you do this month? Did you hit all your monthly goals? Let me know in the comments.

  4. It sounds like you’ve had some INCREDIBLE personal progress in May with your morning routine, gym, Yoga etc. That’s amazing to hear. I really need to prioritize that in June.

  5. That’s so great Riya. May was a good month for you. I’ve been going through some transitions myself and trying to establish a balanced routine. Love your morning routine, meditation and yoga are my favourite self-care activities of mine. Good job on your blog. I’ve been in a blogging slump and can’t seem to get much engagement and traffic. I’ve started writing more long-form posts and trying to incorporate more SEO tactics but IDK. It’s a bit depressing. But I’m not giving up. Any tips for an aspiring full-time blogger?
I really love your content and writing style, btw.

    1. Thank you so much. I’d say to tackle one thing at a time and enlist some help. I wouldn’t have succeeded in May without some help from the blogging community. Also, maybe find some inspiration outside of your usual comfort zone. One thing I’ve been doing is reading and it helps a lot with boosting my creativity.

  6. Sorry about spelling your name wrong in the previous comment. My phone autocorrects everything. Great post again, Riyah. Wishing you the best for June and happy early birthday 🎉

  7. I love hearing updates from other bloggers.

It’s great to set goals and assess how you’ve performed.

I am also glad your personal life is happier & more manageable. Significant life events can have a negative impact and sometimes you don’t realise until it’s too late. You did the correct thing stepping away.

    1. Thank you for reading and commenting. I realize that I should step away more often than I currently am.
